Over the course of human history, toys have played an important part in transmission of culture from adults to children.
Yet there have been few toys with the “staying power” to achieve popularity with generations of children, and still remain a fond childhood plaything in the memories of generations of parents.
Trends may come and go; yet a handful of novelties do manage to strike the chord, which spans the tides and continues to find a place in the hearts of children and adults alike. Of these rare exalted few, includes kites, yo-yos, roller skates and the true icon of innocence, a rubber duck.
The idea for the character-based Rubba Ducks was hatched from the founder, Mark Boldt’s then 4yr old daughter Savannah in 1996.
In 1997, Rubba Ducks became the first company in the world to introduce character based rubber ducks. Breaking the mold with its endearing interpretation and contemporary twist on the traditional yellow rubber duck toy.
Rubba Ducks made even a bigger splash when introduced to the European market in 2003 with a specially designed Ducktoberfest duck for the famous Oktoberfest festival in Munich, Germany.
